Brief

Shield is a LinkedIn analytics platform that helps individuals, teams, and organizations track performance, measure engagement, and optimize their LinkedIn strategy. By providing data-driven insights, the platform enables users to make informed decisions that enhance their online presence. Shield is particularly valuable for team managers and agencies, allowing them to monitor performance at scale and streamline their workflows.

As the sole in-house designer, I initially collaborated with an external freelance designer but have since taken full ownership of all design-related projects. My role spans from defining strategy to executing product design, ensuring consistency and usability across all touchpoints.

The redesign transformed Shield's static analytics dashboard into an insight-driven, scalable platform. The previous version presented users with raw numbers but lacked the ability to translate data into meaningful actions. The new version enhances usability, enabling users to interpret key metrics, track engagement trends, and make more informed content decisions.

The goal was to eliminate friction in team management, making it easier for managers and agencies to add or remove members without external support. A self-service onboarding system was introduced, allowing users to manage access effortlessly. Additionally, workspaces were redesigned to improve collaboration, enabling organizations to aggregate and analyze data more efficiently. Beyond usability, the redesign also focused on increasing adoption and retention by shifting the platform from a passive analytics tool to an active decision-making assistant. The new interface introduces clear visualizations and insights that help users refine their LinkedIn strategy based on real-time data.

Outcome

The impact of the redesign has been significant. Shield now has over eleven thousand active users and more than nine thousand active organizations leveraging the platform for LinkedIn analytics. The introduction of self-service onboarding reduced dependency on customer support, allowing teams to scale effortlessly.

Financially, the redesign has contributed to steady revenue growth, improved user retention, and strengthened Shield’s position in the market. The platform now provides a seamless and engaging experience that not only presents data but also guides users toward better content performance and engagement strategies.
